'The Chelsea Kitchen' by Richard Riding
Yes, for me the Chelsea Kitchen holds very fond memories indeed. Do you remember the waitress I got involved with - Nicole Devauchelle - very petite, wonderful eyes and very photogenic. I painted a portrait of her - not bad either - and gave it to her. Two weeks later she changed her hairstyle and asked me to change the picture. I've still got the picture! Still got all the photographs I took of her too. Two of the other girls were Claudette and Monica. The Kitchen always employed Portugese waitors, all of them over here to avoid the equivalent of Portugese National Service. The girls used to let us have free wine, served in coffee cups and charge us only half the bill. Remember when we went in there handcuffed together? Remember when we walked in backwards and started lunch with pudding, followed by the main course, followed by the starter?
